The exhibition “TEXTS FOR LITHUANIA”

The exhibition “TEXTS FOR LITHUANIA” by one of the most famous Lithuanian calligraphers, patriarch of the Lithuanian School of Calligraphy, Professor Albertas Gurskas will be opening in Klaipėda County I.Simonaitytė Public Library on 31st of March at 5 p.m.

In this exhibition, presented in Klaipeda, we will have the opportunity to see the latest artworks of prof. Albertas Gurskas. The exhibition focuses on the topic of Lithuanian history and culture.

Recognized as a talented calligrapher in Lithuania and other countries, Professor Albertas Gurskas is also known as the author of font posters, logos and exlibris. The establishment of a unique Lithuanian calligraphy school is associated with prof. A. Gurskas personally. He created the coats of arms of Širvintos, Žeimelis, Deltuva, Užpaliai and Labanoras. Other notable activities include the monetary design and production commissions of the Bank of Lithuania. Additionally, and also worthy of note, is  the Lithuanian Heraldry Commission.

While working as a lecturer prof.A. Gurskas has educated many students vs calligraphy fans and followers of his work.

There will be a meeting with the professor A.Gurskas at the exhibition during which professor  present his artworks.

The exhibition is organized by the School of Calligraphy and Lettering Art named under Prof.A.Kliševičius 

The exhibition will take place in Klaipėda County Ieva Simonaitytė Public Library, Herkaus Manto str. 25, Klaipeda

The exhibition will run until  27th of April.
